Inês Tavares is an Assistant Professor at the Lusophone University of Porto. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Porto, where she also obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Health. She holds a postgraduate degree in Clinical Sexology from the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology and was a researcher for several years at the Laboratory of Research in Human Sexuality (SexLab) at the University of Porto.
She completed her postdoctoral research at Dalhousie University and the University of British Columbia (Canada), focusing on research related to sexuality in couples during pregnancy and postpartum. She practices clinically at UTERUS – Women’s Integrative Health (www.uterus.pt).
In psychology, she found two complementary passions: research, with the aim of contributing to knowledge about the biopsychosocial processes involved in the sexual and relational well-being of couples, and clinical practice, which allows her to intervene with each person in a personalized and committed manner.
