Conceição Santa-Martha is a midwife since 2007. Between 2007 and 2015 she served as a staff member in the Labour Ward of Hospital Pedro Hispano – Matosinhos. Since 2009, she has been actively engaged in the Bem-me-quer Project (Prenatal Parenting and Birth Preparation) at the Unidade de Cuidados na Maternidade – Matosinhos (Community Care unit).
Conceição is an integral member of the UTERUS team, a distinguished Specialized Women’s Integrative Health Clinic in Porto, where she primarily focuses on female fertility.
She holds credentials as a menstrual fertility educator in Natural Family Planning, with a postgraduate degree in orthomolecular nutrition and psychoneuroimmunology from EMAC – School of Integral Health. She is also recognized as a specialist in nutrition and women’s hormonal health by the Center for Advanced Studies in Nutrition (CENA).
Furthermore, Conceição is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), an accredited infant massage instructor by APMI, and a certified Prenatal Aquatic Instructor by Aquanatal – Ostend. Over the years, she has pursued various advanced training courses in women’s lifecycle care, prenatal care, childbirth preparation, and newborn care, focusing on a psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunological approach.
Conceição’s journey into this field was profoundly influenced by the birth of her three daughters, which instilled in her a deep appreciation for the innate power of women. This experience underscored the significance of health literacy, cycle awareness, and fertility management. Consequently, she is dedicated to unraveling the complexities of female and male fertility cycles and empowering individuals with knowledge to navigate the challenges and opportunities in this captivating realm of health.
